Brett Levy and Mark Levy finalists in top Young Entrepreneur of the year award

Johannesburg, Thursday, 23 June 2011. Blue Label Telecoms is proud to announce that Joint CEO's Brett Levy and Mark Levy have been nominated as finalists in the Top Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

The awards are made annually as part of the African Access National Business Awards. Nominees in this category have to be under the age of 40. The award recognizes the person who took significant personal risk to start a business or businesses and built them into a financially sustainable entity.

The brothers, Brett (36) and Mark (39) started Blue Label Investments in May 2001. The company initially focused on developing technology and building a diverse retail footprint to distribute airtime to consumers across South Africa. In 2007, the company listed on the JSE as Blue Label Telecoms Limited and is now the leading global distributor of prepaid products and transaction services, such as airtime and electricity.

In a joint statement Brett Levy and Mark Levy said: "This is the 10th anniversary of our business operations - almost to the month, so this is a wonderful birthday present to Blue Label. We are deeply honoured by this nomination - for the 2nd consecutive year. We hope this encourages other young entrepreneurs in South Africa to work even harder at realising their goals and aspirations."
