Mark Levy receives IT personality of the year 2010 Award

Johannesburg, 09 November 2010: Blue Label Telecoms Limited announces that joint CEO, Mark Levy today received the IT Personality of the Year 2010 Award from The Computer Society of SA (CSSA).
This year the Awards were held in association with ITWeb, the Gordon Institute of Business Science and Gartner Africa. It is the 32nd anniversary of the IT Personality of the Year Awards. Prior recipients have been Ivan Epstein (2009) and Hamilton Ratshefola (2007).
Mark Levy, together with his brother Brett, started Blue Label Investments in 2001. The company initially focused on developing technology and building a diverse retail footprint to distribute airtime to consumers across South Africa. The company listed as Blue Label Telecoms Limited in 2007 and is now the leading global distributor of prepaid products and transaction services, such airtime, electricity, money transfers and mobile banking, bill payments, transport and entertainment ticketing, insurance, and electronic funds
transfer, to emerging and developing economies.

The winner was announced at the CSSA Awards Breakfast attended by more than 120 IT leaders at the Wanderers Club in Illovo, Johannesburg. Other finalists for the Award were Brett Dawson, CEO Dimension Data; Arthur Goldstuck, MD World Wide Worx; Zibusiso Mkhawanazi, CEO KrazyBoyz Digital; and Jene Palmer, CEO Spescom.
