Utilities World to provide revenue collection system for Steve Tshwete Local Municipality

Utilities World, an associate of JSE listed Blue Label Telecoms, provides a prepaid revenue collection system for the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality (Middelburg) in Mpumalanga.

Recently, their contract with the Municipality was extended to deliver an exclusive online payment and purchasing consumer portal. This platform enables residents to pay their utility bills and purchase prepaid electricity online.

Already, over 1,000 residents have registered for the service. A marketing campaign is underway by the Municipality and Prepaid24, communicating the benefits of the offering and to assist the public with any queries.

The service is unique in allowing residents full view of their current rates & taxes, as well as any arrears rates & taxes amounts. Balances may be settled as one sum, and can include a payment for prepaid electricity. Within minutes the electricity token is sent to the resident by sms or email.

This world-class solution was developed within the Blue Label Telecoms Group by Prepaid24 and rolled-out by Utilities World. “The purpose of this solution is to make a difference in people’s lives by making their bill payments and utility purchases convenient, efficient, secure and online”, say Ben Lindeque of Prepaid24 and Brian Hill of Utilities World, in a joint statement.
